Question: I need to file for homestead. The mortgage is is my father’s name and Iam not on it at all. He did quit claim deed it to me years ago. The mortgage is in review for a second attempt at a modifacation. My father passed in March of this year. I want to assume, or transfer the mortgage, and declare homestead to keep my family in the home. Any suggestions?
